Brandon Dean graduated from Tarpon Springs High School
(Tarpon Springs, Florida). Started on the baseball team
as an outfielder all four years and holds the record for
games played in a season and career. Started at Wide
Receiver and Punt Returner on High School football team.
School name was the 'Spongers', which was ranked as the
worst high school nickname in the country. Attended
college at Barry University in Miami, FL on a Baseball
Scholarship and got a degree in Broadcast Communications
and a Fine Arts Minor in Theatre. First stage audition
was for Demetrius and Lysander in Shakespeare's A
Midsummer Nights' Dream, but was cast as Theseus.
Performed in over a dozen plays before making his screen
debut. Starting outfielder all four years and holds
records for games played and sacrifice bunts in a season
and career, and in his senior year in college, the Barry
baseball team went to the College World Series and lost
the Regional Championship game to the University of
Tampa. Attended a half dozen professional baseball
tryouts. Played in only two professional baseball games
during a double header for the Huntington Rail Kings in
the now defunct Heartland Independent League. Went to
work for the Double A Chicago Cubs in Jackson, Tennesse
and then the San Francisco Giants Triple A team in
Fresno, California. Came back home to Florida, packed
all his belongings and drove across the country to
Manhattan Beach, California. Now resides in Hermosa
Beach, California. Got his start at lead roles shooting
over a dozen short films for film students attending USC,
UCLA, LMU, New York Film School, Los Angeles Film
School, Chapman University, California State Northridge,
California State Long Beach, Art Center College of
Design, Art Institute, and Cal Arts. These films gave
him his demo tape that launched his paid acting career.
In 2005, got his first two lead roles in a couple 35mm
full length feature films (Zombie Nation and Masculin
Timing) and four lead roles on television shows. Also
had six guest appearances on three different television
shows and is a principal in over two dozen national and
regional commercials.
Got his first lead role in a feature film by submitting
himself from a Backstagewest casting notice. Thought the
director/producer was the cameraman at his first
audition and call back. Studied with Lesly Kahn,
Carolyne Barry and Director John Swanbeck. Audits
numerous other classes and attends Casting Director
Workshops. Is a member of TVI and AIA Actors Studios.
Plays in local adult baseball leagues. Member of Alpha
Delta Gamma National Fraternity and was named Brother of
the Year his senior year in college. |
